Antanas Dambrauskas was a Lithuanian philologist and translator, born on February 10, 1911, in Norkūnai and died on November 21, 1995, in Druskininkai. He studied Latin and Greek at Vytautas Magnus University, where he also taught. From 1945 to 1955, he was imprisoned in a Gulag. Dambrauskas is known for translating Homer's 'Iliad' and 'Odyssey', as well as works by Virgil, Sophocles, Aristophanes, and Terence into Lithuanian.
