Anni Kroll (born Anna-Mechtilde Boltersdorf) was a German author and local poet, born on November 8, 1919, in Drove and passing away on October 8, 2015. After working as an apothecary assistant, she developed a passion for the Düren dialect after her retirement in 1979, writing poetry and collections in her native language. Kroll was associated with fellow local poets Josef Schregel and Tillmann Gottschalk, and she joined the 'Verein Dürener Platt' in 1980. She spent her final years in a nursing home, where she died blind.
