Her debut novel, De Bruine Zeemeermin, won a prose award in 2001. De Noré's first collection of stories, Het kind met de grijze ogen (2004), explores themes of unfulfilled dreams and painful relationships. In 2007, she published another novel, Stem uit duizenden.
