Anne Meijer is a Dutch politician from the VVD party, born on July 25, 1948, in Tietjerksteradeel. He served as alderman in Heerenveen before becoming the mayor of Ruinen in November 1993. After Ruinen was dissolved in a municipal reorganization on January 1, 1998, he was appointed mayor of the new municipality of Westerveld. In August 2007, a loss of confidence with the municipal council due to an issue concerning a primary school in Darp led to his resignation as mayor and the departure of the aldermen.
