Anne Macnaghten, CBE, was a British classical violinist and pedagogue, born on August 9, 1908, and passed away on December 31, 2000. She began studying violin at age six and later co-founded the Macnaghten Concerts and the Macnaghten String Quartet, promoting contemporary composers. With composer Ralph Vaughan Williams' support, she revived the concert series as the New Macnaghten Concerts, lasting over forty years. Macnaghten taught violin in Hertfordshire for many years and received numerous accolades, including a Gold Medal and a CBE for her contributions to music education and performance.
