Anna N. Żytkow is a Polish astrophysicist at the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge. Born on February 21, 1947, she proposed a model of an astronomical object known as a Thorne-Żytkow object, which involves a star existing within another star, alongside Kip Thorne. In 2014, she was part of a team led by Emily M. Levesque that discovered the first candidate for such an object.
