Anna Basta is a retired Italian group rhythmic gymnast born on January 23, 2001. She started gymnastics in 2005 after switching from swimming. Basta gained fame as a member of the Italian group team, securing silver medals at the 2018 World Championships and the European Championships. She quit the national team in 2019 due to an eating disorder and allegations of psychological abuse from coaches. An investigation into the national training staff was initiated following claims of abuse by her and other former gymnasts.
