Aniceto da Portela was a Brazilian singer and composer born on August 12, 1912, in Rio de Janeiro. He was part of the Velha Guarda da Portela and is known for his contributions to samba music. Aniceto was the brother of fellow sambistas Mijinha and Manaceia. He authored the song 'Desengano', often mistakenly attributed to Aniceto do Império, and was featured in the 1970 album 'Portela, passado de glória'. Aniceto also composed the famous samba 'Madrugada', recorded in 1980 by the Velha Guarda da Portela.
