Angiola Maria Romanini was an Italian art historian born on February 26, 1926, in Legnano. She specialized in the study of Langobard art and Romanesque and Gothic architecture, particularly focusing on the architecture of monastic orders. In 1983, she founded and directed the journal Arte medievale and the Encyclopedia of Medieval Art at the Italian Encyclopedia Institute. Romanini significantly contributed to the understanding of medieval art and architecture before her passing on January 18, 2002, in Rome.
