Andrew Morton, born in 1959, is an Australian software engineer recognized as a key developer of the Linux kernel. He currently serves as an assistant maintainer of the Ext3 file system and the Journal Block Device (JBD). Morton holds an honors degree in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales. He has contributed significantly to the Linux community, including creating the mm tree for ongoing patches. Employed by Google since August 2006, he continues to support kernel development. Morton has also been a prominent speaker at major Linux conferences.
