Andrew Gibson Brown, CBE, QPM, born on April 11, 1945, served as HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary for Scotland from 2004 to 2007. He was educated at Kelso High School and began his policing career as a Police Cadet in 1961. By 1998, he had advanced to the position of Assistant Chief Constable (Crime) within the Lothian and Borders Police, and he served as the Chief Constable of Grampian Police from 1998 until 2004.
