Andrew Phillip Chambers (30 June 1931 – 3 June 2017) was a lieutenant general in the United States Army and commander of the Third Army. He studied at Howard University, where he received his officer training through the ROTC program. Chambers held various commands and staff roles in the army, served as Director of the Army’s Equal Opportunity Programs, and was involved in military training exercises in Europe. Post-military, he worked as a director with the Association of the United States Army and became Vice President of the University of Maryland's Europe division.
