He played for Norfolk at both List A and Minor Counties levels. Agar started his cricket career in 1977 with the Minor Counties Championship and continued until 1983. He made two List A appearances between 1983 and 1984, scoring a total of 3 runs and bowling 21 overs. He also participated in the Minor Counties Trophy until 1985.
