Andrés Astruells Femenia was a notable Catalan sports journalist born in Barcelona on November 30, 1946. He began his career at the newspaper Tele/eXpres and joined El Mundo Deportivo on February 1, 1972, where he worked for 36 years, eventually becoming section head and editor-in-chief. He contributed to the magazine Don Balón and was a regular commentator on the radio program El larguero. Astruells was well known for covering FC Barcelona and Espanyol, as well as the multi-sports section, especially the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. He passed away on December 9, 2017.
