Andreas Petur Jacobsen was a Faroese teacher, farmer, and social democratic politician, born on April 28, 1948, in Syðrugøta and died on December 4, 1992, in Vágur. He was the son of a fisher-farmer and pursued his education in primary school and teacher training in Tórshavn. Starting his teaching career in 1972, he also worked in agriculture and at sea. Jacobsen served as a member of the Vágur municipal council and was the mayor from 1981 to 1984, as well as an alternate member of the Lagting from 1978 to 1980.
