He played as a goalkeeper and spent his career at Union Saint-Gilloise (1931-1939), Hanutois (1941-1945), and Vasmies (1945-1946). Vandeweyer was capped 5 times by the Belgian national team between 1933 and 1934 and participated in the 1934 and 1938 World Cups. He later became a coach for Union Saint-Gilloise (1947-1959) and the Belgian national team (1955-1957).
