András Sárközy is a Hungarian mathematician born on January 16, 1941, in Budapest, known for his contributions to number theory, particularly in analytical, combinatorial, and additive number theory. He was a professor at Eötvös Loránd University and is notable for proving the Sárközy theorem and the Furstenberg-Sárközy theorem independently. Sárközy collaborated extensively with Paul Erdős, resulting in 62 joint publications. He received the Széchenyi Prize in 2010 and the Alfréd Rényi Prize in 1977. He became a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1998 and a full member in 2004.
