Amy Gentry, also known as Amy Constance Gentry, was the first woman to participate in rowing in England. She began her journey with the Weybridge Rowing Club and established the first women's rowing club in 1920. Gentry won the singles rowing championship from 1932 to 1934, becoming one of the most successful English female athletes. During World War II, she worked as a secretary for engineer Barnes Wallis, contributing her expertise in the development of the bouncing bomb used against Germany.
