As the second-eldest of four brothers, he played a vital role in revitalizing the dhrupad tradition after the death of their father. Together with his elder brother, he became part of the famous Senior Dagar Brothers jugalbandi duo. The Dagar family has a rich lineage in dhrupad, being the 19th generation of singers in this tradition. Aminuddin Dagar's contributions are significant in keeping this ancient musical form alive.
