Álvaro Gálvez y Fuentes (1918-1975), known as El Bachiller and under the pseudonym Octavio Blanco, was a prominent Mexican radio host, television presenter, journalist, lawyer, and screenwriter. He contributed significantly to the promotion of education in Mexico, especially through audiovisual media. He co-directed the 1943 film Mexicanos al grito de guerra with Ismael Rodríguez and wrote for various Mexican films in the 1940s and 1950s. He also founded the telesecundarias system to enhance education through audiovisual aids.
