Alois Zieris is a former major general of the air forces of the National People's Army of East Germany. He was born on January 29, 1936, in Glasendorf, Trutnov District, Czechoslovakia. Zieris served as the commander of the 1st Air Defense Division from 1983 to 1988 and later as the commander of the Officers' School of Air Forces/Air Defense 'Franz Mehring' from 1988 until 1990.
