Alison Rayner is a British bassist known for her work in fusion jazz, both on double bass and bass guitar. She transitioned from rock to jazz in the 1970s, touring with the fusion-jazz band Guest Stars in the 1980s. In addition to jazz, she plays soul, funk, and incorporates various world music styles. Rayner founded her own jazz quartet in the 1990s and collaborated with several artists throughout her career, including Jayne Cortez and Tal Farlow. She also co-founded the Blow the Fuse Club and is involved in teaching and composition.
