She is a professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and became a full professor of computer architecture and technology in 1991. Her work focuses on intelligent robotics with medical applications, including assistive technologies and surgical interventions. She has received multiple awards for her contributions to technology and served as vice president and president of various scientific organizations. In 2017, she ran for the Catalan Parliament as a candidate for Junts per Catalunya.
