Alfred Starr Hamilton (June 14, 1914 – 2005) was an influential American poet known for his contributions to various small presses such as Epoch, New Directions, and Poetry Now. A lifelong resident of Montclair, New Jersey, his work gained recognition from notable figures like Jonathan Williams and Ron Silliman. His poetry featured in the inaugural issue of Thomas Merton's Monk's Pond. The only full-length collection of his poetry published during his lifetime was titled 'The Poems of Alfred Starr Hamilton' and released in 1970 by The Jargon Society.
