Colonel Alexandre Banza (October 1932 – April 12, 1969) was a military officer and politician in the Central African Republic. He served in the French army during the First Indochina War before joining the Central African armed forces. In 1965, he played a key role in helping Jean-Bédel Bokassa overthrow President David Dacko and was appointed Minister of State and Finance in the new government. Banza established a new reputation and diplomatic relations but fell out of favor with Bokassa in 1967, leading to his removal from office a year later.
