Aleksey Timofeevich Cherkasov (June 2, 1915 – April 13, 1973) was a Soviet writer and prose author, known for his trilogy 'Tales of the Taiga,' which includes the novels 'Khmely' (1963), 'Black Poplar' (1969), and 'Red Horse' (1972). His first book of stories, 'In the Land of Siberia,' was published in 1949. In 1969, he moved to Simferopol with his family and was buried in the city's municipal cemetery.
