Aleksander Jan Michał Tarnawski (1921-2022) was a Polish chemical engineer, military officer, and paratrooper during World War II, known for his contributions to the Polish Armed Forces and Army of the Home. He served in France and the UK, and was involved in covert operations against German occupation in Poland. Post-war, he had a successful career in chemical engineering and was awarded several medals for his military service, including the Cross of Valour and Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He was the last surviving Paratrooper from the Home Army.
