Alberto Nariño Cheyne, born on October 11, 1903, in Bogotá, was a Colombian figure and a descendant of Antonio Nariño, a hero of Colombia's independence. He played a significant role in the establishment of the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC) on July 3, 1936, following Jorge Perry's participation in the 1932 Summer Olympics, allowing Colombia to engage in global sports. Additionally, he founded the Bolivarian Games, with its inaugural edition held in Bogotá on August 6, 1938.
