Alberto Ancizu Irure, born on June 30, 1947, in Pamplona, Spain, is a former Spanish pelotari. He represented Spain at the 1968 Mexico Olympics in the paleta cuero event, contributing to the team’s silver medal win against France. Ancizu also competed in the World Championships, achieving gold in 1970 and 1978, bronze in 1974, and another gold in 1982. Additionally, he won the Spanish Youth Championship in 1964 and the national titles in 1967, 1969, and 1975 in various modalities of pelota. His notable achievements mark him as an important figure in the sport.
