Albertina Krummel Maciel, known as Dona Tide, was a Brazilian philanthropist and politician born on February 24, 1911, in São José. She made history as the first female city councilor and the first woman to preside over a Municipal Chamber in Santa Catarina. Albertina founded the first school in São José that bears her name. She served as a councilor from 1963 to 1967 and passed away on November 23, 1969, during her campaign for reelection. Her legacy endures through the educational institution and a medal awarded to exemplary women in her honor.
