Albert Richards was a British war artist born on 19 December 1919 to a World War I veteran. He enlisted in 1940 as a sapper and later served as a paratrooper and war artist during World War II. Tragically, he became the youngest of the three British official war artists to be killed in the conflict on 5 March 1945.
