Sir Albert Bore, born in 1946 in Ayrshire, Scotland, is a prominent British nuclear physicist, academic, and Labour Party politician. Holding a doctorate in nuclear reactor physics from the University of Birmingham, he served as a lecturer at Aston University from 1974 to 1999. Bore has been a member of Birmingham City Council since 1980, representing Ladywood ward. He led the Labour Party group from 1999 to 2015 and served as Leader of the Council during 1999-2004 and again from 2012-2015. He resigned as Leader on 22 October 2015.
