Albert Bandura (born December 4, 1925, in Mundare, Alberta, Canada) is a distinguished psychologist and Emeritus Professor of Social Psychology at Stanford University. He has significantly influenced social psychology over six decades, contributing to social learning theory and self-efficacy. Bandura is known for his pivotal role in the shift from behaviorism to cognitive psychology and for conducting the famous Bobo doll experiment in 1961. A 2002 study ranked him as the fourth most cited psychologist, and he has been described as one of the most influential psychologists of all time. He was awarded the Grawemeyer Award in Psychology in 2008.
