Alan S. Boraas was a professor of anthropology at Kenai Peninsula College in Alaska, known for his research into the culture, history, and archaeology of the peoples of the Cook Inlet area. He notably collaborated with the Dena'ina people and contributed to the preservation of their language. Boraas was an adopted honorary member of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe and coedited the book 'Dena'ina Legacy — K'tl'egh'i Sukdu,' which features writings of Peter Kalifornsky, for whom he also wrote a biography.
