Alain-Pierre Zivie is a French Egyptologist born on February 11, 1947, in La Tronche near Grenoble. He is a former member of the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology and served as a research director at the National Center for Scientific Research. He completed his doctorate in Oriental studies in 1971. Zivie is known for founding the French Archaeological Mission of the Bubasteion, where he uncovered significant tombs, including that of Aper-el and the wet nurse of Tutankhamun. He also established a nonprofit association, Hypogées, to support research in ancient Egyptian subterranean monuments.
