Al Stricklin was an American pianist born on January 29, 1908, who earned the nickname 'Brother Al' or 'Piano Pounder'. He was a prominent member of Bob Wills' band, the Texas Playboys, from 1935 to 1942. Stricklin contributed to several classic recordings by the band, including 'New San Antonio Rose', 'Steel Guitar Rag', and 'Take Me Back to Tulsa'. He passed away on October 15, 1986.
