Akivo Lenzner (March 16, 1927 – April 27, 2012) was an Estonian physician and microbiologist. He graduated cum laude from Tartu University and later worked in the microbiology department of the university. He became the department head in 1964 and served as a professor from 1974. Lenzner's research focused on the study of lactic acid bacteria in human microflora under both normal and pathological conditions. He was a pioneer in microbial ecology in Estonia and former USSR, supervising 14 doctoral theses before retiring in 1992.
