Akim Dmitriyevich Samar (1916–1943) was a Soviet poet and novelist known for being the first writer in the Nanai language. Born in the Russian Far East, he studied at the Institute of the Peoples of the North in Leningrad. Samar served in the Red Army during World War II and died at the Battle of Stalingrad. His notable works include the poetry collections 'Songs of the Nanai' (1938) and 'Poems' (1940), as well as the 1941 novel 'A Poor Man's Son'.
