Ajaan Suwat Suvaco was a prominent Buddhist monk born on August 27, 1919, in Thailand, who dedicated his life to establishing Buddhism in the United States. After being ordained at twenty, he studied under notable teachers and managed significant ceremonies following their deaths. In the 1980s, he founded four monasteries in Washington and California, contributing to the growth of the Buddhist community there. He returned to Thailand in 1996 and passed away on April 5, 2002, in Buriram after a prolonged illness.
