Ainārs Rubiķis is a Latvian conductor born on July 14, 1978, in Riga. He gained international acclaim by winning the Third International Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition in 2010. From 2012 to 2015, he served as the chief conductor of the Novosibirsk State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. In 2018, he began his role as the chief conductor at the Komische Oper in Berlin. Rubiķis received the Golden Mask Award in 2014 for Best Conductor in an Operetta or Musical for his production of Leonard Bernstein's 'Mass'.
