Ahmad Abd al-Ghafur Attar was a Saudi writer and poet, known for founding the Saudi newspaper Okaz in 1379 AH and serving as its editor-in-chief for a period. He established a modern printing press to publish Okaz and created the Okaz Foundation for Press and Publishing. Attar launched a magazine called ‘Kalimat al-Haqq’ but had to discontinue it due to financial issues. He was involved in various literary topics, particularly around Islam and Sharia. He passed away in Jeddah on March 1, 1991, at the age of 77.
