Agate Nesaule (January 23, 1938 - June 29, 2022) was an American writer and a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She won the American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation in 1996 for her memoir 'A Woman in Amber', published in 1995. Her work draws from her experiences and has received significant recognition in the literary community.
