Adrian Nicholas (March 4, 1962 – September 17, 2005) was a British skydiver with over 8000 jumps across thirty countries. He gained wider public attention in 2000 when he successfully tested Leonardo da Vinci's parachute design, proving that da Vinci created the first functional parachute design around 1485. Nicholas's work demonstrated the viability of the pyramid-shaped parachute, which was later successfully tested in a modified form by Swiss skydiver Olivier Vietti-Teppa. Nicholas tragically died in a skydiving accident on September 17, 2005.
