Adolf Riedel (1930–2010) was a Polish zoologist and a habilitated doctor, recognized as a leading expert in the systematics of terrestrial snails belonging to the families Pristilomatidae, Oxychilidae, Gastrodontidae, and Zonitidae. He described approximately 115 new species from these families and had more than 40 taxa of mollusks named in his honor. His work significantly contributed to the understanding of snail taxonomy.
