Adnan Mardam-Bey was a Syrian lawyer, playwright, and poet born in Damascus on September 24, 1917. He was the son of the well-known poet Khleil Mardam-Bey. He pursued his education in Damascus, obtaining a degree in Arts in 1936, Philosophy in 1937, and Law in 1940. Mardam-Bey worked as a lawyer until 1948 when he became an investigative judge in Damascus, later serving as a consultant for the appellate court. He produced numerous poetry collections and plays, with his complete poetry published in 2014.
