Adem Salihaj is a Kosovar Albanian politician born on December 25, 1950. He served as the acting prime minister of Kosovo from March 8 to March 25, 2005, representing the Democratic League of Kosovo. A journalist by profession, he faced legal persecution under the Yugoslav authorities, resulting in three imprisonments totaling 12 years. Salihaj was a signatory of the Kosovo Declaration of Independence and claims to have survived an assassination attempt in 2000, supposedly involving Kosovo's National Intelligence Service.
