Abbas al-Turjuman, born on November 18, 1925, in Karbala, was an Iraqi-Iranian poet, translator, and linguist. He graduated from the seminary in Najaf, earned a master's degree from Tehran University, and a doctorate from its Faculty of Arts and Humanities. He worked in calligraphy and teaching before dedicating himself to translation and scholarly editing. He authored several poetry collections in Arabic, Persian, and Iraqi dialect, and contributed to linguistic research, particularly regarding the meanings of auxiliary letters. He passed away in Tehran on January 10, 2008.
