Aadel Bülow-Hansen (1906-2001) was a pioneering Norwegian physiotherapist recognized for developing psychomotor physiotherapy. Collaborating with psychiatrist Trygve Braatøy, she advanced treatments for neuromuscular stress conditions. Born in Oslo, she was educated at Nissens Pigskole and the Orthopedic Institute founded by her father. During WWII, she worked to address work-related stress and emphasized the link between muscle tension, respiration, and mental trauma. She was the first physiotherapist to receive the First Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav and was named Norway's physiotherapist of the century in 2000.
