He is best known for founding the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) in Hyderabad, Telangana. A. S. Rao completed his M.Sc in physics from Banaras Hindu University and subsequently earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. His contributions significantly impacted the field of electronics in India, establishing a foundation for technological advancement in the country.
