Atjoem Kasoem, also known as A. Kasoem, was an Indonesian businessman from West Java, born on January 9, 1916. He was the first indigenous owner of an optical store in Indonesia. After learning the trade while working for a German optician, he established the largest bifocal lens factory in Asia in Kadungora, Garut. Kasoem was influential in the area of optical businesses and contributed to the independence struggle, leaving a legacy that continues through his descendants.
